sticky fingers cooking lms build: from spreadsheet pantry to a role-based learning hub

Sticky Fingers Cooking is a youth enrichment franchise brand known for its joyful voice, high standards, and deeply supportive franchisee model. As the brand continues to grow, the team needed a training and resource system that could scale while preserving what makes Sticky Fingers special: clarity, care, and consistency.

Before this project, operational resources lived inside a large “Pantry” spreadsheet that linked out to documents across multiple folders and formats. While the information itself was strong, the system wasn’t designed for how franchise owners and instructors actually learn, onboard, and execute day to day.

the challenge

Sticky Fingers didn’t need additional content. They needed an intuitive system to support it.

  • A spreadsheet-based Pantry that required excessive clicking, searching, and context switching

  • No structured learning paths for new franchise owners or instructors

  • Limited visibility into onboarding progress or training completion

  • One-size-fits-all access to information that wasn’t role-specific

  • A growing support burden as franchisees navigated resources independently

Sticky Fingers didn’t need additional content.

The Sticky Fingers team had developed extremely high-quality franchisee support documents. The challenge of building an LMS was structure, flow, and scalability.

franchise systems, learning design, and brand experience in one lens

Most consultants stay in their silos: L&D people focus on pedagogy; Ops people focus on checklists. Stay In Your Lane lives at the intersection of both.

We don’t just build “training”; we build franchise systems designed for real-world friction. Our team brings a rare trifecta of expertise:

  • Franchise Operators: We’ve lived the franchise life and know why “perfect on paper” fails in the field.

  • System Architects: We build for execution, ensuring your “how-to” leads to “done.”

  • Strategic Translators: We bridge the gap between leadership’s vision and the franchisee’s daily reality.

We believe a broken onboarding experience is a leading indicator of a broken brand culture. By fixing the learner journey, we protect the customer experience.

Rather than treating the LMS as a standalone “training project,” we treated it as an extension of the Sticky Fingers franchise journey. Every decision was made with the learner in mind: what they need, when they need it, and how they’re most likely to engage with it in the real world.

This allowed us to design a system that did more than just store information, but actively support confidence, consistency, and brand alignment across the network.

the solution

Stay In Your Lane rebuilt Sticky Fingers’ training ecosystem inside LearnWorlds, transforming existing materials into a centralized, role-based learning hub designed specifically for franchise execution.

Rather than rewriting documentation, the focus was on translation: turning operational resources into a navigable, structured system that supports consistency, accountability, and growth.

The LMS now functions as both a day-to-day reference hub and a long-term training foundation that can expand as the brand evolves.

platform foundation

LearnWorlds was selected as the platform because it functions as a true learning management system, not just a document repository. The platform supports structured courses, progress tracking, and a more intuitive learning experience for franchise owners and instructors.

The LMS was intentionally designed so different roles see different content. Franchise owners, instructors, and leadership teams are guided to what they need, without being overwhelmed by information that doesn’t apply to them.

This structure supports faster onboarding, clearer expectations, and stronger adoption across the franchise network.

from spreadsheet to structured resource hub

One of the most immediately impactful deliverables was the rebuilt Sticky Fingers Pantry inside LearnWorlds.

Instead of a spreadsheet with external links, franchisees now enter a branded Pantry hub where resources are organized into clear sections. Each section contains the documents, links, and references teams need, all housed within the LMS environment.

In addition to the Pantry, Stay In Your Lane built four structured courses that translate Sticky Fingers’ operational documentation into clear learning flows. These courses include defined sections, modules, and checkpoints that guide franchisees through setup, expectations, and execution.

We also delivered a full curriculum framework outlining approximately fourteen total courses, providing a clear roadmap for future LMS expansion without rework.

The original intent of the Pantry was preserved, while the experience was significantly improved for usability and long-term scalability.

A Branded, Human Learning Experience

Sticky Fingers’ brand is warm, playful, and voice-driven. The LMS needed to reflect that.

The platform incorporates branded micro-experiences, including “Poppy,” a virtual assistant and chef mascot that helps guide learners through the platform. Visual elements, tone, and structure were all designed to feel unmistakably Sticky Fingers, not generic or corporate.

the results

Sticky Fingers Cooking now has a centralized training and resource system that supports consistent execution across franchise locations while honoring the brand’s voice and values.

Franchise owners can onboard more confidently, find what they need faster, and rely on a system designed to grow alongside the brand.
